Yes and No
My RV trailer is parked for the summer and may just have to stay there for a few more months.
I use my new Honda Goldwing converted to a trike for most trips around town now....have a little trailer for whatever I buy....and at around 80 MPG I feel I can go and do whatever I want...but I still combine trips as a lifelong habit.

Driving a fuel efficient diesel makes it easier to drive anywhere you want, when you want.

Actually drove more . . . it is way, way cheaper to drive, even 2000 Km. (rather than fly, or take a train, or take a bus)

Well the wife is back and it only took 2.5 tanks of fuel for the whole trip! That's 48.9mpg for 1498 miles on 30.5gal of diesel. Not too shabby for a 5yr automatic old stationwagon!

The wife is driving to Columbus, Ga. (from St. Louis, Mo.) later this month and since she gets about 45mpg on the hwy, we figure she will go thru about 3 (13gal) tanks of diesel for the round trip. The route she takes makes the driving distance 641 miles and at 45mpg, she could make it all the way on one tank as the wagon holds 15.5 gallons.
At $4.50 a gallon for diesel that comes out to $175.50 for the round trip. She is driving her wagon so luggage is not a problem and since she likes to shop, there are several malls along the way.

----------------------------------- I have cut back on the miles I drive about 30% savings
I have reduced my speed now 55-60 from 70-75 MPH 25% savings
I avoid Ethanol and use Real gas (no Ethanol) 12% savings
Overall I have reduced my Gas Consumption from 1000 gallons in 2006 to 500 gallons projected for 2008.
----------------------------------- Ethanol as a general fuel is a HOAX !!! -----------------------------------
If everyone would do the same, demand would surely FALL. -----------------------------------

When you drive a fuel efficient diesel like I do, the price of fuel does not cut into your wallet as much. So far I have not cut back on my vacation plans as it is still cheaper to drive then fly.

No, but we did change the destination. Instead of going to Nova Scotia we are going to Pennsylvania. We will save 0.25/litre, $1.00/gallon. Gas is so cheap in the USA.

This is an obvious yes to me. I do not have school this summer, so my parents don't have to drive me to school. I guess I just get to sit back and watch the crazy weather around Lansing as well as the ever-rising gas prices.

No. I am going over to E-town, Ky (from St. Louis, MO.) for the weekend. I plan on seeing my sister's new horses (3 of them just had colts!) and spend some time with my parents too.
When you drive a fuel efficient vehicle as I do, you do not have to worry about the price of fuel as much.
