I thought the idea of letting (corn) Ethanol be made for gas was to get off foreign oil more and to reduce the price. It seems like neither even though most gas contains 10% of it. The only thing we see is the increase prices of food since many products are made from corn. It was a bad plan to start with when the corn could been sold to starving nations. The solution is using natural or ( compressed natural gas ) the US has trillions of feet that burns cleaner and gets better gas mileage.

Natural gas is hell on internal combustion/piston engines. It has a very high combusted moisture content and it tears up valve seats pretty fiercely, Not to mention exhaust systems.

Natural gas makes more sense in turbines for small cogen generator power plants than it does in conventional vehicles. Might see it one day in a hybrid that runs on battery and a small turbine powered electric generation device but don't hold your breath as gas turbines like that are expensive and they have issues in things that move or take shock impacts.
