Ethanol has been shown to get worse mileage, therefore causing us to use more gas and spend more money. It is dirtier than real gas. I would like to see the mandate forcing us to use Ethanol go away and let people choose.

Very much so, I would love to see the mandate dropped. As long as the refiners stop passing the crappier base stock along that they have migrated to under the ethanol mandate.
My Neon needs 91 octane and used to get better milege with it to the point that it was more economical to spend 10% more for high test to get a 23% better mileage. Now with ethanol it does not get the increased mileage because the high test base stock fuel is crapier and does not contain the long chain hydrocabons that it used to that made it burn slower and gain the higher octane. Now they just use the same crappy base stock and put in more ethanol which burns slow but has less fuel value thermodynamically and chemically than the petrol components.

In short ethanol is a sham. The only people coming out on that are the corn farmers and the ethanol industry that was born over night with government subsidies.
