I'm told it works best with the recommended addition of the snake oil supplement for only $50 more...

A good rule of thumb is that any plug-in or bolt on device that claims more than 5% fuel economy improvement is obviously a fraud.
The fines for failure to meet CAFE targets are so big that car makers would not miss an obvious simple fix.

I work for a Tire One automotive supplier. If the OEMs could add something like that and it would increase fuel efficiency by 30%, they would have done it already.

It's just not logical. If it was that simple, wouldn't you think manufacturers would put this "super technology" in their cars to boost mileage claims (which is whats selling cars right now)??? This device simply can't impact mileage in any significant way.

"I own a portable air compressor that has 15' of cord with a lighter plug connect........."
Now there's something that plugs into the lighter port that will increase your fuel efficiency by keeping the proper PSI in your tires. Probably not a 30% increase though.

I own a portable air compressor that has 15' of cord with a lighter plug connect,it keeps tires inflated for maxium MPG.SAVINGS It contains a clamp-on hose fitting plus a dial pressure guage and is capable of reaching over 150#+ air pressure. Nothing new,had it for years, works, slow, compact, lite weight, noisy, also a flashing caution lamp, etc.Fold cord tuckaway compartment for 3'hose also.
I use it to pump up a a small portable air tank also aprox.150# carfully! This year its been handy for blowing debris off couwl vents, under hood areas, preventing Cabin Filter from early contamination! Doubby Doo Messes!

Sure have. In fact, I bought four of them, and have one plugged into each of the four power outlets in my car. Now I have an excess of gas I sell to the neighbors, and in a few years I'll be rich.

are you talking about the "EZ FUEL SAVER" the "PANTHER" the "NEOSOCKET" or"ISPARK" or the "FUEL DOCTOR" All these plug in units are supposed to clear up ripples in the cars 12v power , the problem there are no ripples . any car made in the last 30 years has a bunch of caps and coils in just about everything from the ECM to the radio . ever notice how light bulbs last so much longer in modern cars than they did in cars made in the 60's and 70's ? better power regulation is the reason ...... these devices do nothing . don't buy in to there scam

The only device I can think of would be a solar panel charger, plugged into the 12 volt accessory receptical ,but many on todays vehicles are switched out of the circuit when the Ignition is switched off.
There could be a conversion designed to connect such a charger to relieve some of the altenators job of recharging the battery at times, when parked at work, using solar energy to peak the vehicles battery condition.
Reality in todays world is to use whatever accessories are convenient daily which the alt... must cover those loads, plus charging duties also.
Just saying any other energy source could help save a few fuel dollars by aiding the altenator during engine downtime.
I think there is another device which is only an led indicater of ones battery charge state(voltage condition) which might read Red(low poor)...Amber(average),then Green...(normal good) These readings may help in making choices as to continue using accessorys or maybe having a vehicle checked for problems going unnoticed CEL may not be lit.

Technically it is hard to conceive of a device that is plugged into the lighter socket that would increase gas mileage. Generally speaking, if it sounds too good to be true, then it absolutely is. Stay away.

BE very skeptical of these gadgets or anything that claims to increase MPG. If the additives or devices work, the car manufacturers would have added these already. What you see and hear are SCAMS. The local news station did an investigation on these scams and told us to save our money!

heard of it
it's only useful if it's in your field-of-view
if the plug outlet/ or cigarette lighter outlet is too low for the device, then it's more dangerous to look down at it from time to time
just drive conservatively (google hyper-miling) & just follow some of the safer ways
